60% of all plastic waste in our seas is related to one source: fishing nets. There are multiple reasons for that. However, the basic problem is that disposing of old fishing nets on land is more expensive than disposing of them or leaving them at sea. To solve this challenge, we founded Meerkorn. We develop innovative products, produced from 100% fishing equipment and thus turn hazardous waste into valuable raw materials.

With our industry and research partners, we are pointing out an alternative path and are moving forward. We break down barriers for the companies that follow us. We want to inspire and draw attention to one of the most pressing challenges of our time.

We push for a political solution, believe in donation-based campaigns, but the path we have chosen leads to real added value for the consumer.
